DESCRIPTION:Boston Mini-Marathon & Festival Bed Race   Saturday October 29\, 2022\n\nRules:\n\nBed Design\n\nBed can be constructed out of any material so be creative!\n\nBeds must fit a twin mattress and have runner handles (not exceeding 10 inches in length)\n\nA twin mattress or padding must be part of design and design must have a headboard and footboard.\n\nBeds must have 4 functional wheels (1 in each corner) making contact with road at all times. Wheels can be any size.  NO motors or mechanical assistance is allowed. No Brakes. NO Steering devices\n\nAll beds will be inspected prior to race for safety and/or mechanical issues\n\n \n\nRacing Teams\n\nRacing team consist of one rider (minimum 100 pounds) and four runners/pushers\n\nRacers must be 18 years of age or older to participate\n\n \n\nSafety\n\nAll beds racers MUST sign Waiver of Liability and acknowledgement of the Bed Race Rules and Regulations before participating in the race.\n\nAll runners/pushers should wear athletic shoes suitable for street running\n\nTwo beds will race at a time\n\nNo pulling of the bed is allowed\n\nNo sharp items\, glass or obscene items on beds. Beds will be disqualified!\n\n \n\nDuring Race\n\nBed Riders must sit or lay flat on the bed   this is NOT a surfing competition!\n\nAll runners/pushers must be in control of their bed until after crossing the finish line and comes to a complete stop.\n\nThe use of alcohol or drugs is strictly prohibited.\n\nTeams must not interfere or impede the progress of an opposing team.\n\n \n\nAwards\n\nAwards to be given:\n\nBoston Road Runner - Fastest time\n\nBoston Spirt Award   the most CREATIVE Bed Design & Theme\n\nBoston Broken Spring Award\, A.K.A. "the what were you thinking award"\n\n \n\nThrough Hope to Dream\, beds will be donated to support a children in need in the Boston area sponsored by 1915 South Ashley's Furniture.\n\nThe Carnegie Library will assist in identifying age appropriate books which will be donated to children in the Boston Area with the use of the entry fees.\n\n\n\nMake Checks payable to: \n\nBoston Community Club\n\nAttn: Bed Race\n\nP.O.
