Part-time Visitor Services Assisant
Thomasville Center for the Arts seeks a part-time visitor services assistant to serve as an early evening greeter for Center members and visitors.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Welcome all visitors to the Center and help direct them to their program location.
- Answer incoming calls, provide directions, and take messages for appropriate staff members.
- Be knowledgeable of current events at the Center and able to assist visitors with information on programs offered, including internal and external events.
- Provide excellent security and customer service to all visitors.
- Respond to emergency situations.
- Ensure the Center’s lobby and front desk are safe and presentable.
- Complete light administrative duties as needed.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS AND WORK EXPERIENCE
- High school diploma, or current enrollment in high school, required.
- Desire to interact with the general public and provide excellent customer service.
SKILLS AND ABILITIES
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Ability to work well independently.
- Experience with Microsoft Office Suite and Google calendar.
- Ability to multi-task and manage time efficiently.
- Pleasant demeanor and professional appearance.
- Exceptional attendance and punctuality.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
- Ability to communicate via voice by telephone; ability to read and speak English.
- Ability lift and move documents and supplies up to 25 lbs., and bend or reach to file and retrieve documents.
HOURS
Monday through Thursday, 4pm to 6pm, August through May, following the public-school calendar. Possibility for additional hours during special events and festivals.
COMPENSATION
$10 to $12 per hour based on previous experience. This position does not provide health or other benefits.
