Advertising Sales Contractor

Responsible for prospecting, securing, and developing 40 paid advertising pages and 10 trade advertising pages for a bi-annual arts and cultural magazine. Using the press kit, pitch the benefits of advertising in THOM, schedule photo shoots, and communicate ad content to the graphic designer.

Primary Responsibilities

Add potential advertisers to existing prospect list.

Connect with existing and potential advertisers via phone, email, and in person.

Develop strong, ongoing relationships with prospects and existing accounts.

Handle contracts with advertisers

Request and send invoices to advertisers and follow up before and after due dates.

Track sales activities, including keeping a list of committed advertisers.

Develop ad concept for each advertiser and document in creative brief form. Discuss creative brief with THOM team and photographer.

Obtain creative brief approval from advertiser.

Gather resources from advertiser (logos, etc.)

Secure a photographer.

Coordinate the photo shoot date and location with the advertiser and photographer.

Attend photoshoot and help with styling as needed.

Review photos and submit to advertiser to approve selected image(s).

Sends graphic designer creative brief, resources, and images.

Obtain approval from advertiser.

Has previous experience in advertising sales.

Understands the nature of print advertising.

Is excited about connecting with ad buyers to build relationships.

Is ethical, independent, confident, and highly organized.

Has excellent command of phone and email communications, including grammar and spelling.

Has used Asana (project management tool).

Must have access to laptop or desktop computer.
