About Us
Gentian Creek Preserve is a 255-acre nonprofit nature preserve and outdoor learning center located in Thomasville, Georgia. Dedicated to fostering environmental education and conservation, the preserve offers immersive, exploration-based programs that align with Georgia’s science standards. Through hands-on experiences in diverse ecosystems—including upland fields, hardwood forests, wetlands, and creeks—students gain a deeper understanding of ecological systems and the interconnectedness of all living things.
The preserve features ''The Barn,'' a renovated nature center equipped with wet and dry labs, smart boards, microscopes, and ecological exhibits. This facility serves as the hub for educational activities, allowing students to analyze samples collected during field excursions and engage in scientific discussions.
