Williams Family Foundation of Georgia
About Us
Established in 1981, the Williams Family Foundation of Georgia is a private 501(c)(3) philanthropic organization based in Thomasville. The foundation primarily funds program/project support, general operating support, discretionary grants, sustaining funds, scholarship endowments, and financial aid for grantees such as the Archbold Foundation and others. In 2023, it made 59 grants totaling approximately $1.87 million .
The foundation is committed to preserving and promoting the history and culture of Thomasville and the surrounding region. Notably, it funded the installation of historic sidewalk plaques in the 200 block of West Jackson Street, part of the West Jackson Streetscape project, to honor the legacy of minority-owned businesses in the historic district known as ''The Bottom'' .
Additionally, the foundation supports various educational and cultural initiatives, including grants to the Thomasville Center for the Arts, Hands on Thomas County, and Brookwood School .
