Welder / Fabricator (Aluminum & Stainless Steel)
Position Overview: We are seeking skilled and experienced Fabricators, TIG Welders, and Machine Operators to join our team. You will be responsible for fabricating and/or TIG welding components for marine applications. Your expertise will be essential in ensuring the proper construction and functionality of the boat's exhaust and ventilation systems. Attention to detail, precision welding skills, and a strong understanding of fabrication processes are crucial for success in this position.
- Interpret technical drawings and blueprints to fabricate components according to specifications,
- Appropriately set up TIG welding equipment to ensure proper weld penetration, fusion, and strength.
- Set up, adjust, and operate fabrication equipment, ensuring proper product specifications.
- Perform inspections tests to ensure the quality of welded joints.
- Collaborate with the engineering team to identify improvements in design and fabrication processes.
- Work closely with pipefitters, fabricators, and welders, to ensure smooth workflow and efficient production.
- Adhere to safety protocols and guidelines while working with all equipment, materials, and tools.
- Maintain equipment and tools, report any issues or malfunctions to the supervisor.
- Keep accurate records of fabrication activities, materials used, welding parameters, and inspection results.
- Monitor inventory levels communicate any replenishment needs to the appropriate personnel.
- High school diploma or equivalent. Vocational/Technical training in welding preferred
- Proven 2+ years experience as a TIG welder / fabricator, specifically in stainless steel and aluminum
- Strong knowledge in fabrication (layout, cutting, fitting, and welding)
- Excellent attention to detail and ability to deliver high-quality products
- Commitment to safety protocols and maintaining a clean, organized workspace.
- Good problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently or as part of a team
- Effective communications skills, ability to collaborate with others and listen and take direction.
- Knowledge of marine applications and understanding of exhaust and ventilation systems is advantageous.
- Ability to lift 50 lbs., bend, squat, sit, and stand 8+ hours per day.
- Physical ability to perform welding tasks, including lifting and manipulating heavy materials
- Ability to work in various work environments including hot temperatures and various odors.
