About The Vashti Center
For over 120 years, The Vashti Center has been a trusted anchor for children, youth, and families in Southwest Georgia. Vashti is a faith-based nonprofit and regional leader in behavioral health services, trauma-informed care, youth development, and community resilience.
Its core programs include:
Community Programs – Outpatient behavioral health services across a six-county region.
Residential Program – A trauma-informed group home serving youth from all 159 Georgia counties.
Afterschool Clubhouse – A therapeutic afterschool program recently expanded through the BOOST 2.0 grant.Vashti also leads the Resilient Communities of Southwest Georgia, a nine-county coalition advancing ACEs prevention and trauma-informed systems change.
Recognized as the 2023 Nonprofit of the Year by the Thomasville-Thomas County Chamber of Commerce, Vashti continues to strengthen families and communities across the region.
Position Summary
The Executive Director will be a strategic, values-driven leader responsible for advancing Vashti’s mission, programs, and partnerships. Reporting to an engaged and dedicated Board of Trustees, the Executive Director will guide the organization through its next phase of growth, strengthening systems, deepening impact, and ensuring long-term sustainability.

 
Key Responsibilities
Lead and implement Vashti’s strategic plan and organizational goals.
Foster a healthy, trauma-informed, and inclusive organizational culture.
Sustain and model Vashti’s faith-based values of compassion, service, and integrity in all aspects of leadership and engagement.
Supervise and support a strong leadership team across programs and operations.
Ensure sound fiscal management, transparent budgeting, and effective resource allocation.
Oversee compliance with financial, contractual, and regulatory requirements.
Diversify revenue streams through philanthropy, grants, and partnerships.
Strengthen program quality, data-driven impact, and compliance standards.
Serve as the organization’s public ambassador with funders, partners, and the community.
Partner with the Board of Trustees to enhance governance and strategic direction.Qualifications
5+ years of leadership experience in nonprofit management, behavioral health, child welfare, or youth development.
Demonstrated success in strategic planning, team leadership, and financial oversight.
Proven ability to build partnerships and secure philanthropic and public funding.
Strong communication, relationship-building, and public-speaking skills.
Deep commitment to trauma-informed practice, youth well-being, and community collaboration.
Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field required; Master’s degree (e.g., Social Work, Psychology, Public Health, or Public Administration) preferred.
Prior Executive Director or senior leadership experience strongly preferred.Location

Compensation
