JOB TITLE: Certified Nursing Assistant
DEPARTMENT: Room Board and Watchful Oversight (RBWO)
SUPERVISOR: Program Director
PAY SCALE: Hourly
SERVICE RESPONSIBILITIES:
1.Reviews, maintains, arranges, and provides transportation for all medical appointments, physical, vision, hearing, and dental examinations for RBWO consumers as needed according to contract or procedure.
2.Reviews, maintains, arranges, and provides transportation for the immunizations of RBWO consumers.
3.Reviews, maintains, and distributes appointment dates/times to cottage staff for RBWO consumers for the Vashti Mental Health Clinic.
4.Monitors the administration of medications and other medication orders approved by the psychiatric consultant and/or medical director utilizing electronic system provided by the pharmacy.
5.Completes the RBWO clinic form for RBWO consumers and provides to the MRO nurse in the Vashti Mental Health Clinic the day prior to clinic appointments to keep the supervisor, psychiatrist, and medical director informed of medical problems and needs of the RBWO consumers.
6.Orders/maintains medical supplies in cooperation with unit staff for the health needs of the RBWO consumers.
7.Provides and maintains a first-aid kit for each vehicle, the swimming pool and each unit. Monitors these kits periodically.
8.Provides health education as needed for the RBWO consumers.
9.Maintains a cordial working relationship with various hospitals, private physicians, medical supply companies, and pharmacist as needed to ensure optimum care of the RBWO consumers.
10.Prepares medications when RBWO consumers go on home visits.
11.Cooperates with the pharmacy staff to ensure that medication is properly approved, maintained, and administered utilizing the electronic system provided by pharmacy.
12.Cooperates with the cottage staff in providing continuing health care needs of the youth
13.Performs other duties as assigned or agreed upon with the supervisor.
ORGANIZATIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
1.Maintains current medical records on each child according to policy and procedure.
2.Participates in-service training and attends workshops and conferences as appropriate and required agency meetings.
3.Communicates with supervisor for supervision, working schedule, planning, for time off, etc.
4.Communicates with the dietary and cottage staff in following through on recommendations from physicians about general diet, health care needs, etc.
Represents Vashti in a professional manner at all times.
Works in a team relationship with supervisors and staff and maintains a cordial relationship with all staff.
Implements structure and rules through supervision.8.Understands and implements confidentiality.
